Here is a little more information on this: This year Scripps National Spelling Bee is requiring home school groups to register with them at a fee of $99/group.
The name of the group is then posted in the Enrollment section of their website, which is www.spellingbee.com.
All students, from an enrolled group, interested in competing in the spelling bee are then able to participate, at no additional cost.
Please donate as you are able to open up opportunities for our children in the CHESS group to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Send your contribution to

Or bring your contribution to the picnic this Friday,
Sept. 5, at Lion's Club Park. There is no amount too small, yet donate as much as you are able. Whatever extra money collected will be awarded to the student who wins in the CHESS Spelling Bee. A box will be available for this purpose. The payment to Scripps will be made on Monday, Sept. 8, so we can have the study materials necessary soon for our children to use in preparing for the competition. There are also free study aids that can be found on the Scripps' website. Your assistance towards this worthy cause is highly appreciated.
